How to play

Make at least the level's money goal before time runs out. Money over the goal helps with the next one. Clear all twenty levels to finish the game.

  1. Move the cart: tap (or click) above the ground where you want Goldie to go. On a keyboard, use the left and right arrows.
  2. Drop the claw: tap below the ground when the swinging claw points at something you want, or press the down arrow. On a phone, hold your finger down to see an aim line, then lift to drop.
  3. Throw a bomb: if the claw grabs a rock or junk, tap again (or press the up arrow) to blow it up and save time. Bombs are limited.
  4. Big things are heavy: a huge nugget pulls up slowly. Milk makes Goldie stronger for the next level; gas makes the cart faster.
  5. The gear in the top-right corner pauses the game and holds the sound and music settings and the help.
  • 20 levels in two worlds

Bombs

  • You start with 10 bombs, and the ones you don’t use carry on to the next level.
  • Bomb whatever the claw is holding to get rid of it and reel back fast.
  • Bomb coal in the claw and half the time it turns into a $1,000 diamond.
  • A rock with gold inside looks like a $20 rock. Bomb it and it becomes $500 of gold.
  • A blast in the ground turns coal into an $800 diamond half the time, and a rock with gold inside into $500 of gold.
  • A bag of bombs changes every bomb you hold: plain ones blast all around, vertical ones up and down, horizontal ones sideways, and cherry bombs make a small blast that spares what’s nearby.
  • Blowing up an ordinary rock ($10 to $25) sends 2 more seconds to the clock one time in three.

Who’s down there

The Trading Post

Goals, stars and bonuses

  • Money carries over the whole game. Finish a level over its goal and 60% of the extra goes onto the next goal; the other 40% is a head start.
  • Gold nuggets: 1 for making the goal, 2 for 30% over what the level asked, 3 for 70% over.
  • Gold streak: reel in gold or diamonds one after another, and the third pays $50 more, the fourth $75, and every one after that $100. Gold from a bombed rock and diamonds from coal count too. Grabbing anything else ends the streak (an empty claw doesn’t), and it starts again each level.
  • One more grab: if time runs out when you’re short of the goal by no more than 15% of what the level asked, the clock gets 5 more seconds, once a level.
  • Levels last 60 to 75 seconds on the clock; the first two last 75.
  • Daily Dig: one 60-second dig a day, the same for every player. Tries are free, your best counts, and it keeps your days in a row. In the Daily Dig a foe can’t take your money below $0, and there’s no one more grab.
